I took this picture of my son today when we went on a walk in the morning. It bugs me that I didn't focus the other eye, but I am not used to models that keep moving I still liked how it turned out.
Sinje... This is so stunning... he has beautiful soulful eyes, which you captured very well here. I know what you are saying though, but still also like it, VERY much. I also want to say, that I think people portrait photography might be the hardest! You did a fine job.
Actually, I only do snapshots of my son. He is always so quick and moving all of the time. So I just kept shooting using manual focus, and I relized only later that I had the wrong aperture. Despite the flaws I am always so happy to do portraits of his life. I may have a bit of a childhood trauma here as there are only few pictures of myself when I was a kid. When my Dad died nobody ever took pictures of me except for some school photos. Photography back then was so expensive. My Mom didn't understand how my Dad's camera worked and she didn't want to shoot one film after the other for nothing. So we had to wait for the compact cameras until I was a teenager. But then I hated when someone took my picture. Vicious circle Now I am creating a lot of photobooks for my son that he can remember his childhood visually.
XD Yes there is no denying it. It is always strange for me to see features passed on to offspring. I was looking at a picture of my cousin's kids, and it was uncanny how much like him they looked.
